Primarily deliver services to - organisations:
Primarily voluntary, community and public sector groups. In the longer term these will remain the main focus - but we do run some projects for individuals.
Areas of specialism:
Elder abuse – information giving, networking and giving advice to form policies.Finding opportunities and contracting. Working together on joint projects and partnerships with the statutory sector.
Extent of support to organisations:
- Currently very little as in a state of change but offer information, networking, funding, share good practice, putting together consortia to apply for funding.
- Older People's Reference Group - a liaison group that brought together statutory sector and voluntary groups.
- All services are free.
- Specific to older people (over 55) or groups working with that age group.
How support is delivered:Membership based with regular outreach. Main means of communication is email. Phone, sometimes referred to consultant for specific work. Future plans include providing a web-based service.
Number of groups seen in the last 12 months [to June 2006]:20 in membership and given information, 6 worked with in detail.
Additional capacity to support more groups? Not at presentHealthywise is planning to expand in the future.
